Hawaii News Now: UH Athletics to provide mental health resources to student-athletes through Talkspace

H.T. Hayashi Foundation is a proud supporter of the University of Hawaii’s commitment to the mental health of its student-athletes. This support began before the pandemic and has continued despite the challenges presented by the public health and economic crisis we find ourselves in.

Student-athletes are more than just wins and losses; they are individuals whose lives and futures can be enriched by sports participation in numerous ways. H.T. Hayashi Foundation believes it is vital for colleges and universities to support more than just their student-athletes’ physical health. Providing mental health support will impact the lives of these student-athletes well into the future.

During the 2022 State legislative session, our grantee HawaiiKidsCAN, worked with numerous members of the Broadband Hui and legislators, to pass digital equity and access legislation. On June 30th the Governor signed four of them into law.
